Spiegel Grove
The USS Spiegel Grove was a Landing Ship Dock (LSD 32), that was sunk to create an artificial reef in Key Largo. which has been sunk to create an artificial reef in Key Largo. When sunk, in 2002, the Spiegel Grove ended up lying on her starboard side. When Hurricane Dennis passed far south, the currents and waves completed the job of uprighting the huge ship. The photos in this album were taken when the Grove was still resting on her side. The vessel is 510 feet in length, 84 feet wide.
